A place to explore,
create and learn.

The perfect starting point for your child and their learning journey.

Welcome to Westgarth Kindergarten

Our pedagogy is deliberate and based on issues of social justice, contemporary issues, current research and passion. Our Bush Kinder experience was the first of its kind in Australia. We advocate for children to play in nature because we know they are happier, smarter, healthier and kinder when they do. We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People as the traditional custodians of the lands on which we live, learn and play.

Our Community Endeavours:

  • To be kind

  • To have time

  • To act on behalf of the community foremost

  • To act as custodians

  • To coexist through recognising the differing abilities and skill sets of each other

  • To recognise gender and age equity and equal outcomes

  • To be culturally competent

  • To question social norms and customary rules

  • To share knowledge and practice

  • To be courageous

  • To acknowledge Indigenous perspectives

  • To know participation within our community is a continuum

We’re proudly community

Westgarth Kinder is the home of 'bush kinder'. We advocate for children to play in nature because we know they are happier, smarter, healthier and kinder when they do.

Drop in for a visit.

The Kinder is located at the east side of the Westgarth Primary School's Clarke Street site. Come in, we’d love to show you around.
